This course provides Advanced Care Paramedics with a rigorous foundation in pediatric emergency care, focusing on the unique anatomical and physiological differences that define pre-hospital management of infants and children. Learners will master the Pediatric Assessment Triangle (PAT) and the ABCDE primary survey to rapidly differentiate between respiratory distress, failure, and shock. The curriculum dives deep into respiratory pathologies, including asthma, bronchiolitis, and croup, alongside critical management of seizures and pediatric toxicology. New modules address psychosocial crises and effective communication with distressed caregivers, ensuring paramedics are equipped to handle the clinical and emotional complexities of pediatric calls with confidence and precision.
